Firstly, these are Australian dollars, so the USD amount is more like $2300. Secondly, Magic Men perform every week, it's essentially a male strip club. And ticket prices range from $40 - $90 in a venue that has capacity of 1000. Even at 50% capacity and $40 tickets, that's $20,000, which excludes revenue from drinks.
On top of that, the performers have gigs on the side. I don't know why Datalounge posters are so obsessed with wanting people to be prostitutes.
