Sylvan Hills High School is in mourning over the loss of five of its own. Ava Luplow and Suzy Prime were current students, while Andrea Prime, Saloman Correa, and Maggie Franco had graduated recently.
Tragically, the crash was reported by Wyoming Highway Patrol as having been caused by a driver going down the wrong way.
The school community is heartbroken over this senseless tragedy and extends their love to those families and friends who have lost loved ones in this devastating accident.
The recent accident near Laramie, Wyoming was a disastrous occurrence that sadly resulted in the death of two high school students.
According to a report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, tragedy struck when a Dodge Ram truck began driving against traffic on Interstate 80 and collided with both a commercial truck and a car.
In an effort to avoid being involved in the crash, another commercial truck steered into the median, but in doing so, ended up swerving onto the eastbound lane where it collided with the Ford F-150 that had two young students inside.
This horrible incident serves as an important reminder to everyone on the road of how even one wrong move can lead to unthinkable consequences.
The Pulaski County Special School District recently identified five students who were on their way back to Arkansas from Jackson Hole Bible College in Wyoming.
Among them were two current students of the district, Susana “Suzy” Prime and Ava Luplow, and three recent graduates, Andrea Prime, Saloman Correa, and Maggie Franco.
Though no other information was provided in the Facebook post, it appears that the five had embarked on a journey to explore the educational opportunities offered by Jackson Hole Bible College; an opportunity that clearly left a lasting impression as they traveled back home together.
In response to the recent car crash that claimed the lives of two students and one teacher from Sylvan Hills, a statement was released promising counseling and other support for those affected.
This is not the first such tragedy for this school as there was another crash that claimed three students’ lives back in 2004.
Despite this loss, parents, teachers, and friends can take comfort in the fact that anyone who needs it will be provided with counseling services during these difficult times.
All of those lost are dearly missed by their families and the school community.
